Shipping and Other FAQs

Thank you so much for your patience and for your continued support! 

I have another update for you. This time, regarding shipping and other FAQs I've been getting this week. I'm going to post the answers in this update AND on the FAQ page, but reach out to me if there are more questions by either commenting on this post, through the Backerkit support team, or by messaging/emailing me at [email protected].

So, first up, shipping prices:

If you are on a tier with digital items, there was no charge for shipping.

If you selected a Build Your Own Tier with prints and/or Oracle cards, and your account showed a charge of $25.00 for shipping, I gave you a credit of $23.00. This means your shipping price is $2.00. That said, if you change your pledge level or choose a physical add-on that exceeds $2.00 in shipping costs, I will adjust your credit(s) accordingly. 

If you selected a tier with a hardback copy of Blood Ties and your account showed a charge of $50.00 for shipping, I gave you a credit of $15.00. This means your shipping price is $35.00. That said, if you change your pledge level or choose a physical add-on that exceeds $35.00 in shipping costs, I will adjust your credit(s) accordingly. 

I was hoping to add all complimentary credits at once after everyone put in their addresses, but since I've gotten several inquiries on the matter, I went ahead and adjusted it manually.

Next up, pendants.

It's come to my attention that some individuals were charged $30 for pendants. This was a mistake. 

If you were an early bird backer, your pendant should be $0.00 and you should have the option to choose between gold or silver. Please be sure to choose a pendant color so I can update accounts that show both. 

If you were not an early bird backer, but chose the pendant as an add-on, your pendant should be $15.00 and you should have the option to choose between gold or silver. Please be sure to choose a pendant color so I can update accounts that show both--though, I don't think this has happened.

If you were not an early bird backer and did not choose a pendant as an add-on, please contact me or the Backerkit team so I can remove the pendant from your order. I'm not sure how these were added automatically to accounts that didn't want them, but technology can be finicky.  

As far as I can tell, issues with the pendants have been fixed. But, please reach out to the Backerkit Team, or you can email/message me directly at [email protected]. 

Last, surveys:

I'm not sure if you all are aware, but you can input your address in your survey(s) without confirming/completing them. 

For someone like me who is running their first campaign--and who has much to learn about shipping--it's helpful to input your address. 

Also, cards aren't charged for shipping until after the orders are locked. That's why I made the survey completion date 30 October and the lock order date 1 November, I wanted to make sure all orders had the correct amounts on them before charging them on 15 November.

In any event, I'm grateful for all of you who backed the project. Thanks again for your patience as I navigate crowdfunding for the first time. 

I still have a lot to learn, but I appreciate you bearing with me and hope you will continue supporting the campaign as we get closer and closer to fulfillment.

Sent out Surveys!

I hope you're happy, healthy,  and wealthy!

TLDR: Surveys went out and should be completed by 30 October. They'll be locked on 1 November. Please update your address to receive your complimentary shipping credit (applies to individuals with low-cost shipping items like prints or Oracle cards). Digital Rewards will be sent shortly after surveys are locked. One-on-ones and critique dates will be changed to reflect a new timeline. 

Just wanted to let y'all know I sent out surveys, and they're due by 30 October.

You have about 16 (sixteen) days to fill it out. I would give you a longer time,  but the short story collection is written, edited, and ready to go to the printer as soon as I have your information!

Quick reminder to please, please, please update your addresses--especially if you're international.
If you backed my project on a physical tier, I need you to update your address. I can't finalize shipping without this information.
I want to be fair in the amount I charge for shipping. Reiteraring that this is my first campaign, so there's a learning curve. That said, if the amount I charged for shipping is too high on an item, I can add in a complimentary credit to offset what you owe. However, I won't do that until your shipping address is confirmed and locked in.

Sutveyss are going to be locked in on 1 November, so I can begin ordering and shipping out rewards.

 

You can ALWAYS change your shipping address later.  Digital Rewards will go out shortly after surveys are locked.   

I can't wait to show you pictures of everything, but for now I'll keep you apprised of what's going on over here.

Again, I'll be updating one-on-ones and critique time frames if you choose them as an add-on.

I hope all is well.

I've been busy at Nightmare Weekend Richmond, so I'm just now able to send this update.



Anyways,  long story short: I'm sending out surveys tomorrow!

Please complete them by the deadline: 31 October 2024. 

If you choose to Meet the Author or the 10k Word Critique as an add-on, don't worry! I be adjusting the dates to reflect the new timeline. 

Oh, and again, don't forget to vote on the poll below!

Smoke Test Surveys Sent!

Finally, it's that time...

SMOKE SURVEYS WENT OUT!

ICYMI: The smoke test just tests for errors, problems, etc. 

Once I get the results from it, the main survey will go out. But, I'll send you a notification for that.

If you receive(d) a smoke survey, please fill it out and don't forget to update your address. 

In other news, the tarot cards are shipping from China, and I just placed the order for the pins, so hopefully I'll have something to show you soon! 

Last, make sure you answer the poll about whether you want to see the proof copy with or without names! It closes on the 14th, and whatever the majority answer is, that's what I'm going to do.

New FAQs and Other Updates!

Hey, hey Bloodlings!

I hope everything is going well for you and that you're happy, healthy, and wealthy!

I just wanted to give you some quick updates.

UPDATE 1: I've added some new FAQs that should answer some of your questions. 

If you were curious about the project timeline, my refund policies, locked charges, distribution of digital rewards, and/or payment deadlines, you can find the answers to those questions in the FAQs. 

If you have a question that wasn't answered in the FAQs, please comment on this update and I'll answer your question to the best of my ability. 

UPDATE 2: Please, please, please update your addresses--especially if you're international.

If you backed my project on a physical tier, I need you to update your address. I can't finalize shipping without this information. 

I want to be fair in the amount I charge for shipping. This is my first campaign, so there will be some growing pains. That said, if the amount I charged for shipping is too high on an item, I can add in a complimentary credit to offset what you owe. However, I won't do that until your shipping address is confirmed and locked in. I was hoping to lock in addresses by the 15th, but I'm working with BackerKit to update it to the 30th since smoke surveys haven't gone out yet.

UPDATE 3: I've received most of the funds and can begin ordering items.

The first thing I would like to order would be a copy of Blood Ties so you all can see what you'll be receiving. However, I realized that if I ordered a copy now, it wouldn't be complete because I don't have your surveys yet and, therefore, can't add the crowdfunding acknowledgement page as of yet. 

That said, I've added a poll for you all to vote. If you don't care about the acknowledgement page being in the proof copy, then I'll go ahead and order. But, if you want to see the complete version, then I'll wait. I'll give y'all until 14 October to decide. 

Keep in mind that it will take a week or so for the book to ship.

UPDATE 4: The cross-collab Oracle Cards are shipped and on their way!

If you backed my project in addition to J.C. Spark and/or Georgina Stancer's than you'll be receiving Oracle Cards. I just got confirmation that mine have been shipped. I'll let you know when they've arrived by taking pretty pictures of them!

UPDATE 5: The cross-collab pins are next!

While I wait for the Oracle Cards to ship, I can go ahead and order the vampire teeth pins. This is a reward you received if you backed mine and Anna McCluskey's projects. 

I'm in the process of working with Anna to decide on which merchant we're going to go with, but once that's decided, I'll be ordering the pins. I'll keep you updated on when they'll be shipped too.
